About the Show

“Around the County” has a new format. C-NET welcomes our new host, Centre County League of Women Voters President Candace Dannaker. Ms. Dannaker is a former mayor of Bellefonte, the Centre County seat. Each episode will feature an exclusive 15-minute one-on-one interview with a person of interest in Centre County. This person will be a local resident working in the government, educational, or non-profit sector. C-NET invites you to tune in and see what these distinguished guests have to share about what they’re doing “Around the County”!

Cast and Crew

The production crew consists of a C-NET staff producer, host, and production assistant intern.  Currently there is an opening for a production assistant intern.  This is an unpaid internship and hours are relatively few, but hours can be supplemented by production duties outside “Around the County.” It is not required that you be earning college credit, or even that you are a college student, to apply.

Candace Dannaker, Host

Candace Dannaker has been a resident of Centre County for 27 years. She is a former business owner, served as Mayor of Bellefonte  from 1994-2001 and served on Boards of local, county and state organizations.  Currently serving as an Officer in the Centre County League of Women Voters, Centre County Children and Youth Services Board and Lay Pastor of Huntingdon Presbytery.

Show Schedule

"Around the County" is 15 minutes in length, and is immediately followed by "Weather Or Not," an in-depth weather program produced by the Penn State Meteorology Department. The programs air together in a 30-minute time slot. A new episode of “Around the County” airs starting the first and third Thursday of each month, and runs for two weeks (see air times below). A new episode of “Weather Or Not” is produced weekly. The show airs on CGTV (channel 7). Please note new air times for 2008:

Thursdays at 7:00 p.m.

Fridays at 8:30 a.m.

Saturdays at 7:30 a.m.

Sundays at 11:00 a.m.

Sundays at 7:00 p.m. (note that “Weather Or Not” does not follow this airing.)
